Here’s a simple kitchen trick to encourage your kids to be more independent while getting their own snacks from the refrigerator. Start with a tray of pre-cut fruit, vegetables, or cheese in small reusable containers. By having the snacks prepped ahead of time, they will be ready for easy access.

Kids still can’t reach the items in the back of the refrigerator? Add a lazy susan inside your fridge! This is a great way to keep track of smaller items like sour cream or salsa that tend to get lost towards the back of the fridge. Plus, it’s easier for little ones to access more healthy snacks too!
